More about PokerKing

PokerKing is a European skin on the Winning Poker Network, which means it shares its player pool with other poker rooms on the network. This gives PokerKing a large and active player base, particularly from the US and Latin America.

PokerKing Poker Room Games

PokerKing offers a wide variety of cash games, including Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, and more. You can find games in a variety of formats, including heads-up, 4-max, 6-max, and 9-max.

Some of the unique cash game formats offered by PokerKing include:

  • All-in or Fold: In this format, players only have two options preflop: fold or go all-in. This format is perfect for players who like fast-paced action and don’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about their decisions.
  • Bomb Pots: In this format, the pot is “bombed” with extra blinds several times per hour, leading to bigger pots and more action.

PokerKing also offers a wide range of stakes, so you can find games that fit your budget.

Here are the available stakes for some of the most popular cash games:

  • No Limit Hold’em (NLH): $0.01/0.02 to $100/200 (including one of the highest stakes available online in 2023: $5,000/10,000)
  • Fixed Limit Hold’em (FLH): $0.02/0.04 to $40/80
  • Pot-Limit Omaha Hi (PLO): $0.01/0.02 to $100/200
  • Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo (PLO8): $0.01/0.02 to $200/400
  • Pot-Limit Omaha 5 card (PLO5): $0.01/0.02 to $25/50
  • Pot-Limit Omaha 5 card Hi-Lo (PLO8 5 card): $0.01/0.02 to $25/50
  • 7 Stud: $0.04/0.08 to $40/80
  • 7 Stud Hi/Lo: $0.04/0.08 to $40/80

To find cash games on PokerKing, simply go to the “Cash Games” tab. Hold’em, Omaha, and 5-card Omaha have their own separate filters, while Stud games are listed under “Other Games”.

The busiest times on PokerKing are weekdays after 5:00 PM GMT time and practically all day on weekends. However, the activity levels vary greatly between different games. NLH, PLO, and PLO8 are the most popular games and are played most frequently, while Stud games are played less often and have fewer players.

To see the nicknames and stack sizes of players at cash game tables, you either need to sit down at the table or use a special ticket. You are given 3 tickets per day. After using a ticket, you will be able to see the names at the selected table for 5 hours.

Following an update on July 5, 2023, the waiting list in the room now works like a queue in a live cash game. You cannot choose a specific table and join the queue for it. You can only take a place in the waiting list for a specific limit, provided that there are at least the required number of players there. When a seat becomes available, the room notifies the player by opening the table and offering them a seat.

Blitz Poker is PokerKing’s version of fast-fold poker, similar to ZOOM on other poker sites. In Blitz Poker, you can fold your hand at any time and immediately move to a new table with new opponents. This format is perfect for players who want to see as many hands as possible and don’t want to wait for their turn to act.

Blitz Poker is available for both No Limit Hold’em (NLH) and Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) games. All tables are 6-max.

The available stakes for Blitz Poker are:

  • NLH: $0.05/0.10 to $5/10
  • PLO: $0.05/0.10 and $0.50/1

You can find a list of available Blitz Poker games in the “Blitz Poker” tab. However, you cannot view the tables without sitting down at one.

Jackpots are PokerKing’s version of Spin & Go tournaments, which are 3-max tournaments where the prize pool is determined randomly. As of July 2023, only three types of Jackpots are available: NLH $1 MILLION. The buy-ins are $5, $15, and $50, and the maximum prize pool in each is $1,000,000.

You can find Jackpots in the “Jackpots” tab. Observing tournaments is not available.

PokerKing offers a variety of Sit & Go tournaments, including multi-table Sit & Go’s (MTSNG) with 12 players and single-table Sit & Go’s with 6 or 9 players. These tournaments are available in three different poker disciplines, including No Limit Hold’em (NLH), Pot Limit Omaha (PLO), and Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo (PLO8).

PokerKing also offers Sit & Go’s in a variety of formats, including:

  • PKO: In Progressive Knockout (PKO) tournaments, a portion of each player’s buy-in goes towards a bounty on their head. When you eliminate a player, you win their bounty.
  • All-in or Fold: In this format, players only have two options preflop: fold or go all-in. This format is perfect for players who like fast-paced action and don’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about their decisions.
  • On Demand: On Demand tournaments start when a fixed number of players have registered. Registration remains open until the end of late registration.

Here are the available buy-ins for Sit & Go tournaments on PokerKing:

  • Classic NLH Sit & Go’s: $1.50 to $215
  • Classic PLO Sit & Go’s: $1.65 to $22
  • Classic PLO8 Sit & Go’s: $1.61 to $54.75
  • NLH On Demand: $0.55 to $55
  • PLO On Demand: $1.65 to $6.60
  • PLO8 On Demand: $3.30 to $16.50

You can find Sit & Go tournaments in the “Sit & Go” tab. This format is often used for various satellites, such as for PokerKing’s flagship tournament, the $2,650 The Venom. Sit & Go tournaments are popular on PokerKing, and you can usually find games with most buy-ins after 13:00 ET on weekdays. There is also a separate rake race for Sit & Go players called “Sit & Crush” with payouts from the room.

PokerKing offers a wide variety of multi-table tournaments (MTTs), with a schedule that has been reoriented towards European players since March 2023. In fact, MTT players can find action on PokerKing around the clock: there are many tournaments for players from the US and Latin America from 15:00 to 04:00 ET, and for European players from 07:00 to 17:00 ET.

Buy-ins in the regular schedule, excluding satellites, range from $0.11 to $215. The available disciplines are NLH, PLO, and PLO8. However, on weekends, during holidays, and during tournament series, there are also more expensive tournaments for $1,050 and even $2,650, as well as tournaments in Omaha 5 and Stud.

PokerKing also has several regular multi-flight (multi-day) events, the schedule of which changes periodically. For example, on July 7, 2023, there were three such tournaments:

  • $150,000 GTD for $66
  • Sunday Squeeze – $25,000 GTD for $16.50
  • The Dime – $10,000 GTD for $2.50

Guarantees for regular events reach up to $250K, and for periodic events – up to $1,000,000. The room’s flagship event, The Venom, which is organized 2-3 times a year, offers a guarantee of $5M to $10M with a buy-in of $2,650.

The schedule is often subject to changes and is updated as series or holiday events approach. You can find tournaments in the “Tournaments” tab.

Additional rakeback in The Beast and Sit&Crush

PokerKing has two unique weekly leaderboards: The Beast for cash game players and Sit & Crush for Sit & Go players. You can find them in the PokerKing lobby under “My Account” > “Rewards”.

The Beast

For every $0.02 in rake generated in cash games, 1 point is awarded in the leaderboard. The more points a player earns, the larger the amount of additional cash they will receive at the end of the week.

Depending on how many points a player has accumulated, they will receive $50, $125, $250, or $500. If the field generates a lot of rake, then tickets to a satellite starting from Sunday to Monday will be added to the cash prizes of The Beast. When you click on the “The Beast” button in the room lobby, a website with the leaderboard opens.

So if you’re looking to earn some extra cash, be sure to grind some cash games and climb the ranks of The Beast leaderboard!

The columns in The Beast leaderboard display the following information:

  • Nickname: The player’s nickname.
  • Points: The number of points accumulated.
  • Cash Prize: The prize received for the week.
  • Projected: The expected prize based on the previous week’s results, taking into account the speed and volume of points accumulation.
  • Tournament Entry: Tournament ticket (if awarded, this column will say “Sunday Tourney”).

To the right of the leaderboard, it is indicated how many players have currently received tickets to the tournament (306 in the screenshot), when this tournament will take place, and information about the conditions for awarding tickets within The Beast.

Prizes are awarded automatically at the end of the week. All cash game players in the room participate in The Beast – you do not need to go anywhere and click “Opt In” or “Participate” as in other rooms.

Sit&Crush

PokerKing also has a similar leaderboard for Sit & Go players, only points are awarded at a rate of 5 for every $1 contributed to the promotion’s prize pool.

The fund is formed from a part of the rake of each tournament – the room takes 25%. For example, if the tournament costs $100, the rake in it is $10, then the room will take a quarter of this $10 – $2.50, awarding the player 12.50 points in the leaderboard standings.

You can access the leaderboard by clicking the “Sit & Crush” button in the “Rewards” section. Its design and indicators are similar to those of The Beast.
